The Director of Financial Aid Compliance is responsible for ensuring that all financial aid
operations comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations. This position
supports the Associate Vice President for Financial Aid & Enrollment Services in leading
and maintaining complete financial aid compliance, including executing all rules and
regulations that govern or affect Georgia Southern University's ability to continue to
receive and disburse federal financial aid funding. The Director of Financial Aid
Compliance consistently exhibits service, collaboration, and excellence as championed
by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Student Success.

  • Oversees adherence to regulations governing financial aid programs (e.g., Title IV aid) and updates policies as new regulations emerge
  • Assist with the development, monitoring, and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Maintain working knowledge of all federal and state rules and regulations governing the administration of financial aid programs and services and manages specific financial aid programs like Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4)
  • Serve as a director-level Financial Aid representative on institutional committees
  • Trains and leads staff in the fulfillment of compliance policy and goals
  • Monitor ethics and compliance activities
  • Coordinate and facilitate regulatory inspection programs where applicable and assists with risk management
  • Oversee Quality Control programs in fulfillment of accreditation requirements, and coordinate efforts with staff, faculty, and administration to apply corrective measures for issues and concerns
  • Participate in the research and data collection required for these audits and prepare post-audit responses
  • Oversee establishment and enforcement of time frames for implementing changes
  • Coordinates and conducts regular audits and quality assurance checks on financial aid processes to ensure compliance
  • Briefs institutional leadership on any changes and ensure timely implementation of updates
