Tri-County Technical College invites you to apply to the Financial Aid Technical Services Manager position on the Financial Aid team. This person will be responsible for ensuring Financial Aid systems and technologies are maintained and utilized at an optimal level for efficient and effective processing and awarding of financial aid for students. Provides data, summary information, and analysis of key strategic indicators on a regular basis. Audits financial aid data, files, and information for compliance with regulations and serves as the lead compliance officer in the absence of the Director. Ensures accuracy and integrity of student information as it pertains to enrollment, matriculation, and completion. Responsible for analyzing, recommending, and presenting complex student information to leadership.

Job Functions: 
  • COMPLIANCE: Maintain and comply with all state and federal regulations pertaining to student financial aid awarding, especially Title IV regulations and awarding practices. Develop procedures and internal controls to ensure all financial aid funds are properly awarded and internally audited. Ensure Direct Loan and Pell Grant reconciliations are regularly performed.
  • TECHNICAL SERVICES: Maintain and troubleshoot technical services as they pertain to student financial aid processing, awarding, and disbursement. Serve as liaison between IT and the Financial Aid Office to facilitate software upgrades, patches, modifications and identify effects on student aid processes and services. Conducts research and testing before authorizing changes for production environments. Troubleshoots technical problems and finds solutions, and recommends changes to enhance electronic resources. Oversee and complete Return of Title IV calculations on all necessary students.
  • LEADERSHIP: Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a coordinated approach and process ensuring financial aid compliance. Detect, prevent, and resolve issues that fail to meet federal and state financial aid regulations. Manage and lead the department’s annual self-audits and A-133. Identify and monitor trends in the financial aid regulatory environment, assess their impact, keeping leadership informed, and supporting/recommending strategic process improvement efforts. Trains staff on compliance changes and process improvement.
  • PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Continuously evaluates the effectiveness of procedures, identifies areas of improvement, and makes recommendations for areas needing stricter compliance. Continuously reviews the Financial Aid Department's Policy and Procedures for edits as needed.
  • OTHER: Provide assistance with Enrollment Services initiatives as assigned, including functioning as a counselor as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree. Financial aid experience, and experience with student information systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with student information systems, Banner preferred.
